The Chubby Stick

My fourth grade humor is setting in. I can't help but giggle when I say the name of a new Clinique find....

But anyways...last week I found myself with a couple extra bucks in my pocket...I was feeling antsy and decided I've been so good with frivolous purchases, that I should treat myself to a little something. So, at lunch, I made my way over to the mall. As I walked in, I looked up and the large letters of Sephora were staring back at me, so I thought...what would be better than a little makeup?

After wandering around, something I had seen in a magazine caught my eye. A product that seemed like a good idea and something I wanted to test out....Clinique's Chubby Stick...yes,again, the name makes me giggle. I read a review of this product which is supposed to be an ultra moisturizing lip balm...so it goes on like a balm, but gives you the look of a lipstick. In wintertime, I feel like I seldom wear lipstick..my lips are chapped, or I leave the house with the coffee mug in hand...yet, I'm obsessed with keeping my lips moisturized and can probably pull out 3 tubes of Kiehl's lip balm and 4 of Burt's Bees out of my purse right now.

So, the chubby stick looks like a giant crayon. One thing I love..no sharpening needed. I bought a Sephora brand stick like this last year, once it wore down, I never re sharpened it and it fell into the bottom of my make bag which resembles an abyss and hasn't made its way out since. After a week or using this, I must say, I love it. If you're a huge lipstick, lipliner type gal, I can see where you'd probably stick to your lipstick. But, if you're a I like to have something on but not a huge red lip type of gal, you'll love it. Its moisturizing, I like that it feels like a chapstick yet looks like a lipstick as well. It outshines the other product that are supposed to be similar to it...like the Burt's Bee's lipshine and Sephora product that looks similar. Also...it's better than a gloss for me. I love the look of lipgloss, but everytime I wear it, my hair gets stuck in it, its goopy and on my wine glass at dinner etc.

Now...if only Clinique thought of a better name.......

  3. Thanks for posting this. I loved Stila's Lip Glaze Stick but they discontinued it and I haven't found anything similar to it. Until maybe now!
