What I'm Loving Wednesday

This week is a shortened version of What I'm Loving Wednesday...mostly because there's a pile of work on my desk, multiple voicemails to return and I'm due in court in 15 minutes!!

But....there's one thing I've been loving this week that I had to pop in and write a quick post about! I'm not a huge app person. I have a few on my phone but find that I download them and never use them. This app, however, is different! I've been absolutely loving this!

I love reading this blog that helps identify what's healthy and what's not. A lot of what you think might be a healthy snack may have tons of sugar or other hidden chemicals and ingredients. The app allows you to scan a bar code. Fooducate will then grade the food for you. It will also convert some of the nutritional info into a more understandable form. For example, I scanned a Nature's Valley granola bar. It came up with a grade of a C. Mostly because the grams of sugar in it were the equivalent of 5 or 6 tsps of sugar. It's a little something to help keep you in check and might have some eye opening information for you! Check out the blog and website at http://www.fooducate.com/ for more information and interesting food tid bits!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Time for another edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday! Be sure to check out this blog hop at www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com

So...what am I loving this Wednesday??

I'm obsessed with this show...My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet. I can't say I've watched too many programs on Animal Planet and Mr. Allan and I stumbled upon this show once and loved it..maybe because we have a cat from hell at our house who hates strangers.

Jackson Galaxy is the host or the cat whisperer and goes into people's homes to try and solve their kitty issues. I love the tips we pick up off this show. We were lucky enough to catch a marathon on Easter Sunday.

I'm also loving this new snack! My sister in law gets a big kudos for mentioning these to us this past weekend and then as I was aimlessly wandering in Walmart I spotted them! A good little treat that doesn't kill you in calories!

I think I may have posted about this product before. It's been a life saver this week..I've been exhausted. Mr. Allan's away on business and even going to bed at 830pm the other night didn't help. I looked beat the next morning and was thankful to have this as one of my staple beauty products. It helps when you're not looking so chipper in the morning. It's a cooling gel that helps out with bags and dark circles..gives me a fighting chance to look halfway decent when I'm not feeling it!

lastly...I'm also loving this Kiwi Buff Cream Express shoe polish. This was one of my sisters Favorite Things for Christmas this year. (click HERE to see a post about our Favorite Things tradition)

I love having this in my desk drawer to do a quick clean up on my Tory Burch flats or one of the 15 pairs of black heels under my desk since I'm a big scuffer when it comes to my shoes!

Hope you have a fantastic week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

TGIW...Thank God It's Wednesday! Yesterday morning I woke up so tired. It was one of those mornings where I could've slept for another 2 hours and had to literally drag myself out of bed. The first thought that popped into my head, was ...Great! It's Thursday and tomorrow if Friday...then reality hit and I realized it was only Tuesday!!!! So...I'm happy it's now Wednesday and tomorrow is really Thursday and then Friday!!! It's been a long week!

So...what am I loving this Wednesday??

I know there are always food items on my list of what I'm loving! I'm always on the hunt for new snacks that aren't going to blow the calorie counting or full of horrible things like transfat etc. I'm not a huge ice cream person...we seldom get in the car and go out for ice cream and it's not in our house a lot..at all. The other day I wanted a cold snack...and splurged and bought a little pint of Stoneyfield's Organic Frozen Yogurt. At around 140 calories for 1/4 of the container..it wasn't too bad! I loved the Minty Chocolate Chip and will gladly get this as an occasional snack!

I ran out of this the other day..it wasn't until the tube was dead empty that I realized what an essential part of my morning get ready routine this is. I'm vigilant about wearing sun block every day..even though my moisturizer and make up have spf in them, I probably read in Health or InStyle that that's not enough and got in the habit of wearing sunscreen every day. My favorite since it's lightweight and doesn't mess with the 900 other products I put on my face....Clinique's City Block with SPF 40.

Last week I told you how much I loved this book...Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James..with the warning that it is a little racy and va va va voom....

Well, I breezed through the first book and loved the second book.....if you're one to love the bad boy...then Christian Grey will be right up your alley!

And I'm currently about a third of the way through the last book...I'm taking my time because I have a feel I'll be sad to leave Christian Grey behind once I finish the trilogy!

And lastly...I'm very excited that this show is back in full swing! Since I quit the Desperate Housewives a few years ago and the Walking Dead is over for the season...Sunday nights just got a lot better with Mad Men back!

Enjoy your Wednesday and be sure to check out What I'm Loving Wednesday at www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Come join in and see what everyone is loving on http://www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com/!

First up....

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. Someone recommended this to me in passing..probably because I always have my Kindle on hand in case the action in the courtroom is moving super slow or if I have some down time or wait time for an appointment. All I can say is va va va voom! The main character, Christian Grey, is a mysterious, drop dead gorgeous, billionaire who sparks an interest in an ordinary college senior named Anastasia Steele. I loved the characters in this book...and even better..it's book 1 of a trilogy. I'm about half way through the second book and love it just as much as the first one. I will warn you ..there are some well, let's just say explicit scenes in this book When I got to one of the parts, I blushed and tried to remember who it was that recommended this to me! A quick awesome read!

Also...a staple in our house...Udi's Gluten free granola. I was a yogurt hiatus for a while. But, I've eased back into having my plain fat free Chobani once or twice a week. I hate flavored yogurt. I'm sure there are some better brands on the market that use natural flavoring, but I read an article called The Anatomy of a Flavored Yogurt and was really shocked at the amount of chemicals and additives that a tiny thing of yogurt can have! So, I stick to plain and flavor it myself. The choice of flavoring has been a couple tablespoons of Udi's Gluten Free Granola.

Up next...Frederick Fekkai Gloss Cream. I'm a huge fan of the shampoo and conditioner as well, but I will not lie..this stuff is expensive! Sometimes I'll splurge other times I feel guilty unloading that amount of money on hair products. But, I do love the glossing cream! I straighten the crap out of my hair on a daily basis. I was a huge fan of Moroccan Oil but my hair just got too used to it. I love how soft and silky Fekkai Glossing Cream leaves my hair and when I don't want to unload $50 on shampoo and conditioner, I just appease myself with a little tube of the gloss cream...a little bit of this stuff tends to go a long way too!
I've been dying for a trip to mall lately. I've been trying to be good and curtail the retail therapy as we have some home remodeling to do and Mr. Allan is slowly in a need a new set of wheels. One thing I've been absolutely longing to do is hit the LUSH store! My favorite product that I'm missing...the Buffy Bar! It feels like a bar of soap but is filled with tiny particles of rice and almond that help buff away your dead skin and it leaves my normally dry skin so soft and silky. I finished my last one off about a month ago and my showers just aren't the same..and neither are my dry arms and legs either!
Hope you enjoy your Wednesday and be sure to check out What I'm Loving Wednesday at www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

here it goes....another edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday with www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com

I've been eating these all week..even one time for dinner when the husband was out and I was too lazy to cook. It's my little "treat" cereal since I'm usually eating bland sprouted wheat crap that's good for me!

Barbara's Peanut Butter Puffins

Also..another great snack..Crunch Pak organic Apple Slices. I grabbed these at Whole Foods..a quick to go snack. I love apples but for some reason a lot of my local grocery stores don't carry a good stock of organic apples. They're always old looking or super mushy like they've been sitting there for a while. I have a weird thing with my apples..I only like them when they're firm and I can crunch into them. I've seen Mott's apple slice packs but was excited to find these organic slices. $5 for a big container of them.

I guess I'm hungry this morning...because I can't stop thinking about food and all the healthier snacks I've been trying to stock up on this week! Another new favorite...Chocolate Coconut Chew Larabars. I'm a huge larabar fan and this has slowly become a new favorite for me!

My favorite go to chips will round out my food edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday. I'm obsessed with these...I eat them with hummus, guacamole, salsa..you name it..anything goes...Sweet potato is my ultimate favorite although we've yet to try a flavor that's been disappointing!

Have a great rest of your week and be sure to see what everyone is loving this Wednesday at www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I can't believe it's only Wednesday. This is going down as one of the longest weeks in quite some time. Yesterday I tricked myself into thinking that it was Thursday and thought..thank god tomorrow is Friday...boy was I wrong! But..since it's Wednesday..that means it's time for What I'm Loving Wednesday with http://www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com/.

Things I'm loving this Wednesday....

Mrs. Mays freeze dried fruit snacks. I grabbed these at Bj's Wholesale Club. I like that it's a snack that doesn't require refrigeration..so that means they're in my work bag or desk drawer and also that there's one ingredient..apples!

I'm also loving Bliss Soapy Suds...this was one of my sister's favorite things for our annual Christmas tradition this year. Last night was one of those nights where I just needed a long hot bath...I used these Bliss Soapy Suds not knowing what to expect since it was a body wash/bubble bath...but they provided bubbles that lasted and smelled so good!

I'm also loving my new Alex and Ani ring. I went to a special Alex and Ani party that Jen from A Girl in Pearls hosted a couple weeks ago! Alex and Ani are known for their bracelets..which I have about 30 of...but I loved this ring as well! I'm a fan of chunky jewelry and like having this in the mix!

But, of course I couldn't just buy a ring..a couple new bracelets were in order as well!

Hope your week is flying by and don't forget to check in at What I'm Loving Wednesday blog hop at www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I've been a little delinquent on my What I'm Loving Wednesday posts...so here's to hopping back on this blog hop with http://www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com/!

So..what am I loving this Wednesday?

I used to be a huge coffee drinker and have scaled back. I've replaced my morning cup of coffee with some tea instead. Since I'm not buying Dunkin Donuts coffee in bulk anymore, I decided to splurge at Whole Foods and try a new kind for Mr. Allan. I opted for Allegro's Breakfast Blend...bold but not over the top Starbucks strong and not that overly Dunkin Donuts taste either. It's a hit and I enjoyed a cup with the Mr. as a little treat!

My husband travels a lot. That leaves me plenty of time to muck up our Netflix list with lots of chick flicks. One movie I randomly added to my queue was The Other Woman with Natalie Portman. I don't think I had any clue what it was even about and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed not only the entire movie but Natalie Portman as well..who I'm not really a huge fan of!

A couple years ago, I think I subscribed to something crazy like 15 magazines. I started to scale back and now only have a few select ones I read faithfully...guess I just outgrew Cosmo! One that's definitely going on the subscription list is Clean Eating Magazine. I've been retreating to these old issues that I've bought more and more for great recipes.
I'm also excited for a girls weekend in Maine! excited to get away and leave Mr. Allan alone to do the taxes and hopefully I won't do too much damage shopping with my sisters and Mom!

Happy Wednesday! Enjoy your week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Time for another edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday with www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com !

First off...I'm loving that next week Mr. Allan and I are going on a spur of the moment getaway. A few weeks ago we were complaining about how we never got around to planning a vacation, how it was too late to plan some type of big vacation and how it's miserable and cold in New England. So, we decided to jet to Sedona, Arizona for a quick 4 days. It's winter there as well, but I'll take there 60 degree temps over our 20 degree temps. I'm excited for some hiking and relaxing and checking out a new area!

Sedona..here come the Allans!

I'm also loving/borderline obsessed with the new Urban Decay Palette...Naked 2! I loved the original palette..loved loved loved it..and maybe I didn't really need a whole second palette of eyeshadow, but I got it in the mail last week and have yet to go a day without using it!
One of my New Year's resolutions was to practice more yoga. I love to run, take kickboxing and step classes and I'm starting to feel some wear and tear on my knees and ankles from these high impact exercises that I pound my body with. So, I decided to take a step back from these types of workouts and replace them with just as challenging, yet gentler, exercises. I've fallen in love with Heated Prana Flow Yoga. The heat gets me sweating and the Prana Flow classes keep me moving and I definitely feel the burn! One problem with taking lots of heated yoga classes...my yoga mat needs a little refreshing! I grabbed this mat spray and it's working wonders for my poor yoga mat that's used multiple times a week...I have Manduka's Energizing Wheat Grass spray..amazon.com has great prices for it!
After a hearty workout...I like to reward myself..I can afford to eat a little something I normally wouldn't since I took the time to workout and burn some calories. One snack I've been loving...Trader Joe's 100 calorie dark chocolate bars...

I'm also loving that the New England Patriots are in the Superbowl! Can't wait for Superbowl Sunday! I love the parties, getting together with friends and it's all so much more fun when your team is in it!

Hope you have a great rest of your week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's Wednesday and time for What I'm Loving Wednesdays with www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com !

Here's what I'm loving this week....

Neutrogena's Naturals Pore Scrub. This was one of my sister's Favorite Things for Christmas this year. (Here's a LINK explaining our Favorite Things Christmas Tradition). This scrub smells fantastic and it's all natural..so no chemicals or additives to harm or irritate your skin.

Even better...it works so perfectly with my Clarisonic Skin Brush. I love a good scrub but most got all gunked up and stuck in the brush of my Clarisonic. This one works perfectly and gives me a good cleaning...one just like I get when I go for a facial!
During the holiday break, Mr Allan was away for a few days. This gave me lots of time to watch some bad tv. Thank God for On Demand...it helped me discover so many shows I feel like I've been missing! One of them...Scouted on E!. It's the reality show where model scouts submit their local models to a team from One Management in NY for the opportunity to be signed. Mostly I just like to see these average teens and their transformation and ultimately what the experts think and whether they'll make it in the modeling world or not!

And, of course we can't forget that this show is back on...The Bachelor...my bad bad bad addiction. Every season I complain about the 2 hour long episodes, the crazy chicks, the same lines that Chris Harrison uses...yet I watch. I didn't think I'd get into this year because I wasn't a Ben fan on the Bachelorette and I don't think he's this outstandingly handsome guy that merits having 25 girls drooling over him. But, kudos to ABC for putting it on right in the New Year when everything is a rerun and there's been nothing on TV because of the holiday.

I've been doing more than just laying on my couch watching reality tv...I've also been reading like a mad woman. My Kindle has truly been one of the best things I bought in the past year. It has made one of my great loves...reading..so accessible. It's always in my purse and I've read more in this past year than I have in quite some time. The latest good read... Rich Boy by Sharon Pomerantz

I really enjoyed this book. I hadn't heard about it or stumbled upon it through my many amazon.com searches. I think I saw a review on some one's blog and downloaded it to my Kindle. A great story about a kid who grew up with not a lot and goes on to live quite the different lifestyle.

Come check out what I'm reading on Good Reads...a great site to keep tabs on what you and your friends are reading! My GoodReads Bookshelf

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I can't believe it's only Wednesday..blame it on the post Christmas funk or the work days where the office is dead and time seems to go by so slowly....and to boot it's a short work week! The only plus...3 more days of work and another short week next week thanks to New Year's falling on a Sunday! Another good thing...it's also time for another installment of What I'm Loving Wednesday with http://www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com/ !

I'm absolutely loving the after Christmas sales. While most people are running to Nordstrom's or the Gap or where ever they got gift cards to...my butt was at Target at 7am. My mom and I have our little after Christmas tradition....we try to find the unconventional things that are marked down...our favorite place to hit...Target! Here's my stash...most people were sprinting to the wrapping paper and fake trees that were 50% off...however..I was in the household section scouring for packages with a snowman or anything Christmas themed because they're also half off. My favorite steal...the snow flake flannel sheet. Mostly because after Target I was headed to Macy's to grab us a second set so I don't have to sit there and wait for our only set to be washed and dried and throw them immediately back on the bed! Also..something else that got me very excited...I had coupons that I used too! Although my mom couldn't be there with me the morning after Christmas..we were calling each other after each stop to see who scored what!

Another sale I was so excited for...The LUSH buy one get one free! All their holiday products are buy one get one free. I love so many of their products..but it was time to stock up on some of my favorite soaps and bath bombs. Most of the holiday products are twists on some of their staple items. Some of my favorite scores...candy cane soap, gingerbread house bath bubbles, and the cinders bath bomb. I had the most relaxing and best smelling bubble bath last night. When I woke up this morning...my bathroom stilled smelled so delicious!

Bath and Body Works is also having their huge semi-annual clearance sale. Although I don't use a lot of their lotions and shower gels...I'm a sucker for their soaps. I scooped up a bunch of them at 50% off since they were discontinued scents.
Also..my friend gave me this cute little soap sleeve from them...perfect for dressing up the soap in the bathroom or kitchen!

Hopefully you had a wonderful holiday and have a very Happy New Year! Don't forget to check out What I'm Loving Wednesday at http://www.littledaisymay.blogspot.com/
